How Lifestyle Fitness Coaching 101 Works!

Fitness is not just about weight loss, lowering cholesterol, or keeping your blood pressure under control. Those are just numbers.

A fitness program should affect the way you live your life, how you feel day-to-day, and how you feel about yourself and how that understanding of self impacts every area of your life. It’s about your whole life – your energy, confidence, vitality, endurance, strength, health and self-esteem.

Getting fit is simple – it’s not easy, but it is simple. There are only three things you need to do:

1. DECIDE:

  • Why it is important for you to get fit — if you don’t have a strong reason WHY you want to make changes in your life, you won’t stick with it.
  • What your goals are — without a clearly defined destination you won’t stay on your journey to fitness.
  • How you are going to get there – you need a roadmap so you don’t get lost on your way to success.

2. COMMIT:

  • The best laid plans will not succeed if you are not totally committed to them. You will need to recommit to your goals every day in order to stay on track — having a coach by your side will help keep your commitment strong.

3. BE CONSISTENT:

  • Consistency is the secret to getting fit and staying fit. You won’t see the results you want if you don’t stick with your plan every day. Having someone to be accountable to while you are creating life changes will make staying consistent easier, and I will be your cheerleader every step of the way.

How You Will Go From Frumpy to Fabulous

  • You will be treated like the individual you are. I will get to know about the environment you live and work in, what your priorities are, what challenges you are facing and how you want things to be different. I will listen to you and work with you to design a program that will work best for your individual needs.
  • Your program will be designed specifically for you. Your program will fit your exercise personality, your goals, budget and schedule. You will get the tools, guidance and education to find out what works for your body, so you finally get the results that you are looking for and the healthy body you deserve!
  • Your program will be flexible. Life is ever changing and we need to make adjustments to keep our fitness priorities. I will give you strategies that are designed to keep you focused and on track no matter how busy or hectic your schedule. You will even be able to follow your program while you travel.

Just Once A Week over the Phone: Why Does It Work?

You have a fitness goal (a smaller clothing size, more energy, reduce cholesterol, etc.). You probably even have a plan to achieve your goal (get up early, bring lunch to work, hike with spouse on the weekend). If you’re like most people, it is the monitoring and follow-through that stops you from getting results.

In order to stay motivated and get results…

You Need to Have a Coach to Motivate, Encourage, and Support You:

Are you wondering if this is possible over the phone? It is the combination of accountability and expert advice that produces incredibly powerful results.

Studies from Virginia Polytechnic and State University & University of Kansas show telephone-based fitness coaching is effective at helping people to make lifestyle changes and to see results from their efforts.

Stanford University has performed over 20 years of research on telephone-based fitness coaching showing exercise adherence rates of 75-90% (unheard of with any other type of program) and that people get better improvements in their fitness levels.

Coaches help clients achieve results better and faster than on their own. Coaching gives you guidance and motivation you want while allowing you the independence to exercise on your schedule not the trainer’s.

You Need to Stay Out of the “Back-burner” Trap:

Starting a program is easy — sticking to it long-term, through life’s ups and downs, can be a challenge.

When your schedule gets overloaded, you may be tempted to put your fitness program on hold for a week or more. Be careful. A week can become two weeks, then it becomes a month, then several months…you know the drill. More often than not, it becomes very difficult to regain momentum, making it near impossible to achieve results.

When you are pressed for time, I will show you how to modify your exercise program to keep you energized and on track, both mentally and physically. That way, when the disruption to your schedule passes, you are more likely to resume your program because you will have maintained your momentum.
