The body needs a minimum amount of essential nutrients, and when deprived of adequate nutrition, will go into starvation mode.
In starvation mode, your body thinks it needs to store additional fat cells as an emergency measure. So you may lose weight for a while, but eventually you’ll also start putting it back on. When you go off your diet, the whole situation is aggravated.
Yo-yo dieting is a well-known phenomenon now which has no health benefits. If you’ve tried to lose weight permanently with little success, you need a health coach for weight loss.
